50KB is the limit many job portals, university applications, membership cards and online profiles use for a profile photo or a supporting image. It is enough for a clear head-and-shoulders portrait at a moderate size, or for a reasonably readable photo of a single printed page. It is not enough for a full-resolution camera image, so the tool lowers quality first and only then reduces the dimensions.
After compressing, the message shows the final size, pixel dimensions and quality. Open the downloaded file and zoom in on the important part — the eyes in a portrait, the smallest text in a document. If it looks fine, you are done.
Forms differ in how they count kilobytes. This tool uses 1KB = 1,024 bytes, so a 49.8KB result is 50,995 bytes. If a site with a 50,000-byte limit rejects it, set the target to 48 and run it again.
Need a different limit? Try 20KB for signatures and small ID photos, or 100KB when more detail is allowed.
It is already under the target, so it is kept exactly as it is.
