Browser processing and server processing
PDF operations vary in complexity. Some tasks can run directly in a modern browser, while others may require server-side processing to produce a reliable result. Convertios does not assume that every PDF operation works the same way.
Check the individual tool page before uploading a sensitive document. Each tool should state whether the file stays in your browser or is sent for processing, along with relevant format or size limits.
Before converting an important PDF
Keep the original file until you have checked the output. PDF documents can contain text, embedded fonts, images, forms, unusual page sizes and complex layouts. Converting to Word or images may change some formatting even when the document remains readable.
For scanned PDFs, the pages may contain pictures of text rather than selectable text. In that case, conversion behavior can differ from a digitally created PDF.
Common PDF workflows
If you receive several scanned JPG pages, start with JPG to PDF to create one document. If you then need to reorder or combine it with another PDF, use Merge PDF. If a combined document contains pages you do not need, use Split PDF to separate them.
If your goal is editing rather than organizing pages, PDF to Word is the more suitable route. For thumbnails, previews or image editing, PDF to JPG is usually a better fit.
