How to convert a video online

Security and temporary processing

Your file is uploaded to the Convertios backend only because video transcoding requires FFmpeg and server resources. Every conversion uses a temporary job directory. Input and output files are deleted automatically after the request completes, whether it succeeds or fails. Files are not retained, shared or used for AI training.

Why can conversion take several minutes?

Video transcoding is CPU-intensive. Duration depends on the source codec, resolution, length, chosen output and whether the free Render service was sleeping.

Are my videos stored?

No. Temporary files are automatically deleted after each request finishes.

Why is the current limit 50 MB?

The limit protects reliability and prevents the shared free server from running out of memory during simultaneous conversions.
