This Privacy Policy explains what information Convertios ("we", "us") collects when you visit convertios.com, how files you choose are processed, which third-party services are involved, and the choices you have. Convertios is an independent website offering free online tools for images, PDFs, audio, video and everyday utilities. You do not need an account to use any tool.

1. Files you choose to process

How a file is handled depends on the tool. Every tool page includes a "Tool Information" section that states which method it uses.

• In-browser tools (most tools). Image conversion, compression and resizing, background removal, PDF merging, splitting, rotating and image export, audio cutting, conversion and speed changes, and the text, QR, password and unit tools run entirely in your browser. The file is never sent to our servers.
• Server-processed tools. PDF to Word, Video Converter and Video to MP3 need more processing power than a browser offers. For these, your file is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our own processing server, hosted by Render. The file and its result are stored only in a temporary folder for that single request and are deleted automatically as soon as the request finishes, whether it succeeds or fails.
• AI Image Enhancer. This tool uploads your image to Cloudinary, an image hosting service, and sends the resulting image link to an automated enhancement workflow. Images uploaded this way are handled under Cloudinary's own terms. Do not use this tool for private or sensitive images.
• Link Shortener. The web address you enter is sent to TinyURL to create the short link. Short links are public, so do not shorten addresses that contain private information.

We do not look at, keep, sell, or use the contents of your files for advertising, profiling, or training AI models.

2. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, Convertios receives basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you open, the referring page, and the date and time of the request. This information comes from:

• Hosting and security. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages and delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it against attacks and abuse. Both services process standard request logs to operate and secure the service.
• Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which tools are used and how the site performs, so we can fix problems and improve the tools. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects usage data such as pages visited, approximate location and device type. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

3. Advertising and Google AdSense

Convertios is free because it is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to show ads.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
• Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google requires that you be asked for consent before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used. Where a consent message is shown, you can change your choice at any time.

4. Cookies and local storage

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Convertios itself does not need cookies for its tools to work. Cookies are set by Google Analytics and Google AdSense as described above, and Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some ad and analytics features may then not work.

5. Information you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to improve the site, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

6. How long information is kept

Files processed in your browser are never received by us. Files sent to our processing server are deleted when the request ends. Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics data-retention settings. Emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not run user accounts, we usually hold no information that identifies you directly. To make a request, email us at the address below. For data held by Google, Cloudflare or other providers, you can also use their own privacy tools.

8. Children

Convertios is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Security

All traffic to Convertios uses HTTPS encryption. Our processing server limits upload size, request rate and processing time, and stores each job in an isolated temporary folder that is removed after use. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so please avoid processing highly sensitive documents with any online tool.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when we add tools or change services. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
